Description
Tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs coated in a savory homemade barbecue rub and slathered with sauce, all baked to perfection in the oven.
Ingredients
5 lb pork ribs
0.5 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 cup barbecue sauce
0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions
-
1Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
-
2In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper to create the rub.
-
3Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if necessary and pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
-
4Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
-
5Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up.
-
6Cover the ribs tightly with another sheet of aluminum foil.
-
7Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.
-
8In a small saucepan, combine barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar over medium heat. Stir until warmed and mixed well.
-
9After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
-
10Brush a generous amount of the barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs.
-
11Return the ribs to the oven (uncovered) and bake for an additional 30 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.
-
12Once done, remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
